PURPOSE
S.A.F.E.
is a community based, school linked program designed to bring services
to children and families of the North County. The program is designed to
work with families on three levels; intensive, community based, and
prevention.
PREVENTION
The prevention component is made up of
existing community resources that are working with children and families
(Youth Task Forces, P.T.A.s, Parks and Recreation, Y.M./C.A., Boys and
Girls Clubs, Youth Sports Organizations, etc.) This connection
between service providers and community prevention programs will
increase families abilities to link with vital community resources
COMMUNITY BASED
SERVICES
There are currently community based
teams located in Paso Robles and Atascadero providing services. The
community based team works closely with the schools and other community
partners to provide early intervention services. The core of the
community based team is the Family Advocate and the families themselves.
The Community Based Team are school linked and based at the Chestnut
St.,Family Resource Center in Paso Robles and at the Atascadero
Community LINK in Atascadero.
INTENSIVE SERVICES
The intensive level team is based at
the Chestnut Street., Family Resource Center in Paso Robles and services
the entire North County. Parents are included as partners at weekly team
meetings. Most of the intensive level services are provided in-home.
These services are offered to families whose children are at risk for
out of home placement.
